Tom Fischer and Marvin Koechig have over sixty years of combined state and federal law enforcement investigative and managerial experience between them. The addition of Mr. Fischer and Mr. Koechig adds to the wealth of professional investigators Simpson Security and Investigative Advisory Group, LLC has become known for. Please read below for detailed biographies of Mr. Fischer and Mr. Koechig.
Tom Fischer
Tom has over thirty years of local and federal law
enforcement investigative experience.
Tom served as a police officer before moving to the Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF) as a Special Agent. From BATF Tom moved to the U. S. Treasury
Department and then to the Department of Homeland Security. During his career, Tom served as an Internal
Affairs Division investigator; as the Organized Crime / Drug Enforcement Task
Force Coordinator; and as a training instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement
Training Center (FLETC) in Brunswick, GA. Tom retired as the Resident Agent in
Charge for investigations in the office of Homeland Security in St. Louis, MO. After retirement, Tom served as a contract
investigator providing investigative guidance and expertise to federal law
enforcement agencies. During his career,
Tom served in Chicago, IL, Philadelphia, PA, Washington D.C., Miami, FL, and
St. Louis, MO. Tom is a certified
firearms instructor and explosives handler.
Tom is also U. S. Marine Corps veteran and served
nineteen months in Vietnam. Tom has a Bachelor’s
degree in the Administration of Justice from the University of Missouri, St.
Louis and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from DePaul University in
Chicago, IL. Tom holds Missouri Private
Investigator license number 2019014160.
Marvin Koechig
Marvin has over thirty years of investigative experience
in local and federal law enforcement.
Marvin started his career as a Deputy Sheriff in Cape Girardeau County,
MO. Marvin later became a Special Agent
with the United States Department of Agriculture, Office of Inspector General –
Investigations (USDA – OIG). In this
capacity, Marvin conducted numerous complex financial investigations throughout
the United States and in several foreign countries. After retirement from the USDA – OIG, Marvin
founded Independent Resources, Inc., which assisted state agencies and
educational institutions on contract compliance, procurement fraud, internal
security and government regulations.
Since retirement, Marvin has worked as an independent
contractor fraud analyst providing extensive investigative support to federal
law enforcement agencies. In this role,
Marvin specializes in the investigation of domestic and international mass
marketing fraud and white-collar fraud.
Marvin has extensive trial and litigation experience.
Marvin has Bachelor of Science degrees in Criminal
Justice and in Education from Southeast Missouri State University. Marvin holds Missouri Private Investigator
license number 2019008647.
